Andrew Garlick is the Head Exercise Scientist and Owner / Operator of Bodyology Exercise Science Studio.
Andrew received a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science (Honours) from ACU National after completing studies in Australia and the U.S.A. His studies focussed on Advanced Exercise Physiology, Exercise Psychology and Health Promotion. Whilst at West Virginia University (WVU), Andrew furthered his Exercise Science Studies in Holistic Health Management, Sport Psychology, and Advanced Biomechanics. Whilst living in the U.S.A. Andrew gained invaluable experience training with Division 1 Collegiate athletes in wrestling, NFL (Gridiron), Soccer, Basketball and Baseball. Upon returning to Australia, Andrew completed his Honours Research Thesis (First Class Honours) investigating the effects of body composition (primarily increased body fat) on primary school children, analysing physical, motor-coordination and psychological parameters.
Andrew has almost 10 years experience working in Health Clubs in roles from Fitness Instruction to Personal Training and Gym Management. Whilst completing his Research Thesis, Andrew ran Tutorials and Laboratory classes in Sport and Exercise Psychology at ACU National to University Exercise Science students.
An Exercise and Sports enthusiast, there aren’t many sports that Andrew hasn’t given a go, from Soccer to AFL, Basketball, Karate, Squash, Sprinting and Tennis to name just a few. Now he keeps fit for his role working as a Professional Firefighter with the Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB), and as a Life Saver at Mentone Surf Life Saving Club.
Whilst building Bodyology Exercise Science Studio as a “Gold Standard” testing and consulting facility, Andrew looks forward to the prospect of continuing his research studies in the near future, at the PhD level.
Andrew is available for the majority of Bodyology’s testing, consultations and training services. Bodyology also employs qualified and studying Exercise Scientists, Scientists and Nurses for testing and consultations. |
